Canis Lamb Bone is a dried lamb bone. It is a real bone and therefore hard. Because a lamb is smaller than a cow, a lamb bone is also smaller than most beef bones. You order it per piece.
Which dogs does a lamb bone suit?
- Small and medium-sized dogs: for a large dog the bone quickly becomes too small to gnaw on safely.
- Calm gnawers: dogs that gnaw rather than crack get the most out of it.
- Lamb as protein source: useful if you want to give one animal species at a time to a dog with a sensitive stomach.
- Not for puppies: do not give hard bones while the teeth are changing.
What to watch out for
Give the bone as it is and never cook it, because cooked bones can splinter. Stay with your dog while it gnaws, check now and then for sharp edges and take the bone away as soon as it is small enough to swallow. Put out fresh water. Which bone suits your dog is explained in the chew bones buying guide.
