Canis Oxtail

Canis Oxtail is dried beef tail. An oxtail contains the tail vertebrae, surrounded by skin, tendons and some meat; most dogs gnaw off the outside first. Choose short pieces of 15 cm (70 or 500 grams) or whole tails of 35-45 cm, per piece or per 50.
Short piece or whole tail?
- 15 cm (70 or 500 grams): mainly suits medium-sized adult dogs; 70 grams to try, 500 grams as a supply.
- 35-45 cm (1 or 50 pieces): for large dogs and long chewing sessions.
- Varied chewing: softer parts and hard vertebrae in one treat; stay close and remove small, hard leftovers.
Giving it safely
Only give treats with bones under supervision. Never cook an oxtail, as cooked bone can splinter. Remove loose vertebrae and the last piece before your dog swallows them, and put out fresh water. Start with 70 grams to see whether your dog handles it calmly. Other bones and treats with bone are covered in the chew bones buying guide.
